FREEDOM!!!

Right now, I feel like these little kids! Haha.
The reason I say freedom is because Monday I just finished my last finals, with a total of 6, Yay!!! I was in summer school from May 5 to July 28, and it seemed way too long haha. I'm use to working my bum off for 2 semesters and then getting a break, but 2 days after Truman & me got back from the honeymoon, I started summer school. Summer school full-time, homework, work, & moving/settling-in was challenging! I feel so exicted & happy to have a summer break! I'll start school up again September 2nd, but look forward to getting to enjoy the summer with Truman!

Happy 23rd Birthday Truman!!!

Truman's Birthday was beyond fun!!! I love that kid! Truman's one main request was to go to see Batman. I had 2 finals that day, & then as soon as I got home I started getting things ready for his birthday party. He told me I was invited haha ; ). I got some cute wrapping paper and ribbon from the dollar store & wrapped his gifts. Then I made my Mom's famous French Chocolate Silk Pie at his request with a yummy homemade crust. He always says that crust is his favorite part. haha. It was really fun because we got to go to out to dinner & the movies with gift certificate presents he had gotten. He chose to go to Chili's, and we got an appetizer and everything! Then he had also gotten some Peanut M&M's from my Mom, and we took it the movies so he could have a movie treat! We got to the theaters at the mall & the time showing we were going to go to had been sold out for over an hour! So we bought tickets for the next showing that wasn't until 9:15pm. While we were waiting, we walked around the mall & Truman got a couple of cute new T's from American Eagle with a gift certificate he had. We walked back to the theaters 40 minutes early and the line was already winding around to get into Batman. We still got great seats & Truman and me intensely watched the movie. It was kind of dark, but still a really good thrilling movie. We didn't get home till after midnight, long movie! I asked Truman if he wanted to just wait till the next day to do pie & presents, and he looked at me like I was crazy haha. He opened his 2 presents from me. One of them was one of his favorite pictures of us framed so he could put it on his desk at work. The other was thes style of shoes I knew he had loved and been dying to have, but would never buy it for himself. He was totally suprised & super excited to get them. He has been wearing them around ever since. I then got out his pie, and put the 23 candles on! He took that picture of me, & yes I was very tired. The pie was yummy & he said he had a great birthday. That's just what I wanted! :).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRUMAN!

Truman's
Summer Softball Intramurals

Truman signed up for the Ward Softball Intramurals. He had never played softball before, but to no suprise he was really good at it right already. He was quickly assigned to play left field due to his sweet catching abilities. Truman had a lot of good saves, not to mention also really good at batting (once again, no suprise, this kid is just a natural athlete). It's a lot slower of a sport compared to basketball, but he just had a lot of fun getting out there and playing.
Hike in Rock Canyon

After one of Truman's Intramural Softball games, he wanted to go on a hike up in Rock Canyon. It was very beautiful as you can see. It was the perfect temperature & just fun to walk around. There was this one little cave part that you had to climb up too. I stood on the edge holding my thumb up, while Truman had fun throwing rocks off the edge.

FBI Workout

Can you believe your eyes? Yes these are my new Saucony running shoes. This is what I chose to get for my birthday! I do have a reasonable explanation for it. So Amy and I have been going to the gym on a fairly regular basis and she will run on the treadmill and I just wonder around the weight room trying to figure out what to do next. I just as getting board with that so I decided to make a goal in reagrds to my physical fitness. I went on the FBI website and re-downloaded ( yes, the first time I did this was in Hawaii right after getting home of my mission) the physical fitness training standards for being a special agent. Why? I don't want to go into the FBI anymore but I do like the simple fitness areas I am trying to master. So basically I am training to get 10's on each of the tests. In order to do that I need to:

Run 1.5 miles in 8:59 or under

Run 300 meters in 40.9 seconds

Do 0ver 58 situps within a minute ( their way is much harder than I' used to)

Do over 71 Pushups continuously

Do over 20 Pullups ( Also harder than I am used to)

So basically I got the running shoes so I could do the running segments. I had been wearing an old pair of Nike Pegusus that I got out of the garage when I got home from my mission, let's just say these are much better on the feet. So my goal is to reach a 10 on all those by the start of school in September!

An addition to our family

Ha! By the title you probably thought that this post was going to be about some kind of announcement about a pregnancy...sorry it's not. The new addition was a sweet FUJI brand bike I scoredfor Amy and fixed up so that it is just what we were looking for. Now Amy and I can go on little bike rides aournd Provo. I got the name brand bike for a steal at DI and then put a little money into it to raise the handlebars and such. With it's name-brand components it shifts and rides like a dream, we are also looking into investing in a nice comfy seat to make cruising more fun. We are expecting this bike to pay itself off in pleasure in no time.

Weston Family RUNNER

On July 5, 2008, I decided to invite my dad to go on a little run after we went to see Hanncock in the real theaters and got stuffed at Cafe Rio. I knew that he is not any different than any of us Weston boys, in that we get boared if aske to sit in one place to long (ie Grandma Ruth's house).

I wanted to spend more time with him on their trip to Utah and Amy had some hardcore homework to do so I thought it would be fun to go running with him. He was more than obliged to go and so I picked him up at Ruth's house a couple of hours later, short short and all. We went to a local park that was right on the Provo bike trail which leads up to a water fall. So I was thinking that here I was at 22 in my "prime". I am in good physical health and I was witness to when my dad broke his lower half just over a year ago so I was thinking that I would take it easy and enjoy a jog with him. The first 3 miles was fun and we talked business on the way up, he took about 0.5 miles to warm-up and then we just cruised on up the canyon. On the way back I logically thought that the last 3 miles would be slower than the first 3 miles. Boy was I wrong, my dad kicked my trash on the way back. No, seriously, he was hauling bum and I was seriously doing all I could just to stay close by. Basically the point of all that is to tell everyone who is wondering how his legs are doing, that he is in amazing shape and he kicked his son's trash. The slogan that never caught on was Weston family Runners, well I am here to tell you that it should have always just been singular and not plural: Weston Family RUNNER.

4th of July BBQ at Grandma Ruth's House
Truman's parents came down for the weekend for Joe & Tracy's new little boy Milo's baby blessing. After the Freedom Festival Parade, we got ready and headed to Grandma Ruth's house for some good ol' Grandma Ruth fun. No one was BBQing, so Truman decided to take charge before he passed out from low blood sugar. He BBQ'd some awesome hamburgers and hotdogs.

We had fun catching up with Mom & Dad, it was fun to be able to spend the weekend with them!

I'm sorry to say, Truman & mine's outfits weren't very patriotic this year haha.

Grandma Ruth bought a ton of fireworks, and designated Truman to light them off. She insisted Truman do them on her new cement that she had had poured instead of on the street. Truman's Mom's brother Richard, his wife, & 2 kids (Emily & Merrin) were there, then Grandma Ruth next to them, then Aunt Leslie & Cousin Emeigh (yes, that spells Amy), and then Mom & Dad.

Truman enjoyed implementing his pyro skills.

FREEDOM FESTIVAL PARADE
The morning before the Freedom Festival Parade starts there is a huge field where you can go walk around these HUGE hot air balloons. We accidentally knocked off the alarm, so didn't get to walk around them, but Truman snapped a few pics of the balloons after they had taken off.

People in this area get all crazy & excited for this annual parade! haha. There was about 93 different organizations/groups represented in it. It goes down University Avenue in Provo, UT. People were literally camped out all up and down University Ave. to "reserve" their spot. A law was passed this year that people couldn't start setting up their things until 3pm on July 3rd because apparently people got a little too excited last year haha. Luckily, there was also signs saying that you couldn't camp out or sit on people's lawns, they only could be on the side walk & grassy area going to the street. Truman & I were shocked by the amount of people camping on the street sidewalks the night before the festival. We grabbed our bikes at about 11:30pm and rode all up & down the street to check it out. It was that late, and we didn't see one person asleep! We felt very lucky & relieved to have our front door/porch facing University Avenue.

The next morning we went out on the porch to watch the parade where we had numerous people come and ask us if they could sit on our lawn. First it was just a cute little family, then another cute little family, then before we knew it our lawn had been taken over. This group of adults tried to set their huge umbrella up on our lawn right in front of us haha. Truman went down and said "you can't set that up right there, you can stay on our lawn but just move it to the side," and they said, "why?". haha. Then another group of about 7 people (who we had never met before) asked me if they could sit on our porch with us. Considering the size of the porch, Truman & our neighbors not being out yet, and Grandma Ruth & me on the porch, I told them, could you just stay on the grass. I guess for some people it wasn't enough to be on our lawn, they wanted to set up umbrellas in front of us or be on our porch too. We got a pretty good laugh out of all of it. Grandma Ruth was especially shocked at their asking haha.

Truman loving his Aviator Sunglasses he got from the Hooneymoon & me just waking-up!

I've never seen huge actual legit floats before! It was so fun to see all the different ones from the different areas and organizations. They was a BYU float, The Jazz, all the Miss Orem/Salem/Springville floats, etc., & more. This float was one of my favorites, it was for the Bank of Amerian Fork. On the barn, Charolette (from the movie Charolette's Web) made a web that said "Some Bank" instead of "Some Pig" like in the movie. Then of course the piggy bank instead of just a big. I thought it was so clever ;).

Then they had a couple huge floats/blow-ups with a bunch of people holding it down. This one was of Babar, and there was also a Curious George one. It was fun to see them march it down the street.
