Pink Primroses

On Saturday, Truman had to run an errand to the store, and not only did he come back with what he needed, he came back with something for me too! He bought me these adorable Pink Primrose Perennials. Pink is one of my favorite colors! I have hardly any clothes of this color, but I love pink accents It's just a happy color! I have a pink sweater, pink lunch pail, pink water bottle, pink folders and binder, pink socks, and much more! I just think these flowers are adorable, & I know it sounds silly, but I have always wanted a plant! haha. Truman will often pick me flowers, but then they're gone, so that's why I'm so excited about a potted plant. I'm so scared I'm going to kill it though! I talked with my Mom on the phone today, and she said Perennials live all year, not bloom all year, but live all year as long as you don't kill them haha. My Mother is the gardening expert, and I am so glad I talked to her about my little flowers. She said to only water them once a week, very thorougly, letting all the water drain out the bottom and letting them dry. She said they like part-shade so to put them up in the window during the day, and take them down at night. They can stand the cold, but not freezing temperatures! I'm glad to know this because I the past week, I was giving them a tinsy bit of water everyday, haha. So, I'm determined to keep these little pink primroses alive! Something that I love about them is that the six pedals are shaped like little hearts which form a brillant yellow star center. They bring me a little bit more happiness everyday, and who doesn't need that?

Target & the Handicap Cart

Truman didn't mind the excuse one bit to use the handicap cart at Target. I never realized how slow those carts were, I am usually the slow walking one, but not today! He was loving the whole driving around thing. And you know what? I didn't mind it too much either. Truman can't stand walking around stores too long, he gets tired and antsy pretty fast! haha. I don't even want to talk about registering for gifts right before we got married-- keep the scanner away from Truman! haha. With these carts, I may even drag him around grocery shopping with me. I even got to keep my purse in the cart, it came in rather handy ;)

Truman's Doctor Appointment

One week later... and Truman is still hurting and bruised from his toes to half way up his calf.
He FINALLY went to the Doctor's to get it checked and x-rayed. As soon as the doctor saw it, she said, "what happened to you?" Truman explained, and she was concerned that it still looked the way that it did after a week. She palpated all around his ankle and found a few tender spots. She defintely thought he should get it x-rayed, and he went down to the radiology room.
The doctor came back after viewing the x-rays, and we were both very happy to hear that it was not broken! However, the doctor said that his foot seems to have more mobility that it should, and that he may have torn a ligament or something. She recommended that he schedule an appointment with a podiatrist, especially because if something happend to the ligament, detached or torn, he may need a surgery for it.
So...happy news that it's not broken! Now he has an appointment scheduled with a podiatrist on Monday!
Oh...and Truman was looking especially cute at his doctor's appointment because he had just gotten through with an interview for a Summer Leadership Conference. So we'll see, he may be off for a week in the summer! And look how wide his smile is getting from the braces, he is so cute!

Broken Ankle

Broken Ankle

Can anyone say kankle?
Kankles from the Urban Dictionary is defined as:
Calves that become feet without taking an ankle break.
I think this pictures depicts that perfectly!
Truman was playing some good old Intramural basketball on Friday. He jumps up to block a shot, but when he comes down, his left foot came down on a guy standing right beneath him. It rolled and he instantly fell to the ground with intense pain. I have never seen Truman like that, it was scary to see him yelling on the floor in pain. He always just brushes it off, but he said he hadn't been in this amout of pain since he broke his collar bone. Truman played basketball in high school, and had sprained his right ankle a few times, but he said hurting his left hurt far more that his right ever got hurt. The referees asked him if he wanted the BYU EMS, and he initially declined, and then decided that he probably should.
The EMS did a few tests on him to see if it might be broken, and they said it seemed like it wasn't, but they aren't doctors, and he needs to get a x-ray.
They gave Truman some ace bandages & ice packs, and he tried soaking in that night in ice water, and kept it elevated. Poor Guy! A team mate of his and me tried to help him get out to the car. I would say Truman's most bummed about not getting to play basketball any more this season.

Dexter & Me

This post was appropriately named 'Dexter & Me' after the movie 'Marley & Me' haha. Truman & Dexter have been long time friends. This huge, de-clawed, pushover of a cat is one of Truman's favorite things about going home to California. Dexter is almost like a puppy in that Truman will call him and he will run right over and let Truman hold him like this. Truman wants a cat so bad, and I said if you had the choice between a brand new adorble kitten and Dexter, who would you choose? He said he would chose Dexter any day, now that's love! Dexter is the Weston family outside cat, but one of Truman's favorite things to do is smuggle him in the house, and play with him, haha.
These pictures were the morning we left California at 4am, and Truman was so sad to say goodbye. Dexter...well, he always has that face, but I'm sure Dexter is going to miss the extra attention. Until they meet again...

Red Robin
Last Night in CA
Shelly, Dad, Mom, Mike, Reis, Tara, Amy, Truman
My parents treated us to Red Robin for our last night in town! It has always been one of my favorite places. It has great food, great desserts, and just a fun place to hang out with the fam. I even requested we go eat there for dinner on like my 18th Birthday, you get sung to and get free ice cream, I love it! haha.
It was such a fun break in California, Truman & I can't wait to move back there when he is done with school!

Tara & me

Truman & Reis {Monkey See, Monkey Do}

My Dad bought us the famous Mud Pie to share, which is pretty much a beyond amazing ice cream pie. Reis wedged himself right in there, and started going at it like one of the big kids, haha.

Shelly polishing off the last bite of the pie...Mmmmm....
