Living Room Revamp - New additions...

Now I have finished everything in the living room (well...minus changing out the ceiling fan...)

The latest update is this blue and espresso end table (thank you craigslist, only $20) with an awesome print from my sister-in-law Tracy and a new frame plus a pretty flower vase I got for my birthday

The other new addition is the lamp in the corner. I love the brushed nickel and the linen shade. It makes it perfectly cozy, doesn't it just make you want to sit down and read a book?

I also never posted pictures of this side of the living room which has our entertainment center

I love the tall ceilings and this cut-out above the entertainment center into our kitchen

It was fun to fill the spaces in the entertainment center and pull in different colors and designs. I repeated my favorite Chevron design in the room 3x. My Chevron pillows, picture frame, and vase up on the landing by the hallway. I bought new bubbly glass blue hardware to dress up the drawers. These baskets are from IKEA and fit perfectly in the space and has added lots of extra storage.

The best part about the baskets is it keeps this baby out of all the cords and electronic devices!

Blue and cream runner                                    Upper landing next to hallway

My Mom made this for our wedding and it has been with us in every place we've lived ever since

I painted this bird cage yellow to make a bright pop of color

I love this clock, I was holding out until I found just the right one. The tower adds height to this open space and I love the rod iron.

Close up of french doors

Our newest addition to the room is this beautiful picture of Christ. We've been telling each other for years that when we buy a house we would buy a large picture of Christ to go right in our living room. I love it because all the children are gathered around Christ and He is smiling. So very sweet and a good reminder right there in our main living area!

Camping at Calaveras Big Trees & Amy's 26th Birthday

I never imagined how much stuff it takes to go camping with a baby! Truman used his Tetris skills to pack the car, we were loaded down!

We went camping with my parents at Calaveras Big Trees and it was such a blast!

Huge tree that was cut down long ago and was used to dance on, hold meetings, church, etc.

Elle enjoyed crawling around on it --one of the few times we let her down to crawl

Elle asleep on Daddy's chest under the blankie in our tent. This never happens! She was exhausted...

These mammoth sized sequoias were so cool to see in person, the picture does not do their height justice

My sister Rachel and her husband Dave and their two kids met us up there on day two. We all enjoyed the North Grove Trail and Elle enjoyed rides on Grandpa's shoulders.

 Good Sharing Daddy

My Dad took turns caring both grand-babies, this was a first for River and my Dad!

Aurora hitched a ride from her Dad most of the way

Rachel & Me

My Shnook & Me

Elle enjoyed sitting with everyone around the campfire. It was hard not being able to put her down ever but the dirt was fine like powdered sugar and was getting into everything. She took rides in her bike trailer with us, walks in her backpack, Bjourn time, and of course hanging out on our laps. We all divided up the meals and shared so it was good cookin' the whole time we were there. We even got treats from the dutch oven that my Mom made. We camped for 2 nights and it was the perfect amount of time. On Friday night, my Mom had made me brownies, lit some candles and everyone sang me 'Happy Birthday' around the campfire. Saturday morning, I made everyone buttermilk pancakes, we got to hang out a while longer and then packed up. That evening on my actual birthday, my parents watched Elle for us so I could have a birthday date with my hubby!

We got cleaned up

I got to open wonderful presents

...and we got to eat some yummy sandwiches at Whole Foods & see The Wolverine

Camping was definitely tricky with a baby, but to our surprise she still took some naps and went to sleep at about 8:30pm-9pm both nights. It will be fun to go again when she is walking and can explore a little. It was a blast to go with family and have some good ol' time in the great outdoors.
