Christmas Fun

We made these for our neighbors...
(well, actually this picture is from online, but they looked better than the ones I made, haha)

My Mom use to make these candy trains with us when we were little.

Truman was looking for something he could make for his deacons so I gave him a few ideas and he loved the idea of the candy train and made them for all his deacons.

Patria, Mark, and their two kids came up for Christmas for the first time in a very long time all the way from Hawaii.  Joe, Tracy, and their two kids came up from Clovis for the first Christmas in a few years too. It was so fun to have 4 nieces and nephews there and have such a big group this year.

Ruby & Atticus decorating gingerbread houses

Miss Ruby is allergic to cats but couldn't keep away from good old Dexter. Here she is petting him with her mittens on and putting her jacket on him to keep him warm haha. He's just happy for some attention.

The sweet playroom - this is where the kids spent most of their time. I like how The Grinch and Kit Kittridge are about to have a tea party. Nice!

Jake, Joe, Spencer, Mark, & Truman enjoyed a fun time at the go cart track

A Snickers should help with that hypoglycemia Spenc

Sweet little Penny and her awesome slippers. If only these looked as cute on adults as they do on kids...

There was a lot of this...

Hayley & Jake helping Milo, Ruby, & Atticus decorate Christmas cookies

Hayley and Milo

Lots of fun... and sugar

The finished products... that's a lot of sprinkles... and saliva... Let's just say there was a lot of good finger frosting lickin'

Penny didn't help decorate the cookies but she still wanted to eat one. Look how festive she is in her Christmas jammies.

Weston Family picture (minus Ben, Yulia, Lev, & Nina who were are all in Germany this Christmas)

On Christmas Eve, we drove down with my family to check out a particular street near Sacramento where EVERY house on the court is decked out with Christmas lights in different themes. It was so awesome, those people are devoted. Different themes consisted of Disney, Winter Wonderland, Christmas in Hawaii, Support Our Troops, The North Pole, Charlie Brown Christmas, The Nativity, etc. They said the court has been doing it for over 20 years!

Not the best picture but you get the idea...

Christmas Day at my parent's home

Nobody try to break into my parent's house because it is patrolled by 2 pomeranians...

Stockings!

It was a great Christmas with both families. It is so nice to have them both only 10 minutes away from each other so we get to see both every year. Thanks for all the great gifts, food, and fun...

Christmas

Truman & I had a wonderful Christmas with both of our families. Our camera was unfortunately left up at our family's home, but my brother did send us these two pictures he had of the McKinnon side.

My sister Rachel got us this adorable little pillow. If you look close enough, it looks like Truman + Amy is "carved" (embroidered) into the tree.

More to come later...

Aurora's Tinkerbell Cake

I found a perfect transluscent ribbon that matched Tinkerbell perfectly

I found this edible "gold shimmer dust" at Michael's and dusted all the letters, leaves, flowers, and Tinkerbells with it. It made it that much more whimsical because it looked like Tinkerbell's pixie dust.

Thank you Weston's for letting me take over your kitchen for a couple days. haha.

Aurora's 4th Birthday Tinkerbell Cake

I googled Tinkebell images and found 4 high resolution poses of her that I liked and meticulously cut them out. Some are double sided so it could be seen from different angles of the cake and others just singled sided. It was fun to have her on every cake layer instead of just as the cake topper.

This is a collectible Disney Tinkerbell figurine that I found on Amazon for ages 0-9; each year is in a different pose. I matched the cake color to the center of the '4'. The blue birthday letters were made to match Tinkerbell's wings and flowers on top of the cake. I made a pile of fondant leaves for her to stand on.

I was going to make fondant butterflies but when I found these at Michael's, three for $2, I was so sold! I hot glued them to tooth picks and inserted them into the cake.

Fondant Flowers with pixie dust

Birthday Girl!
She was so adorable in her birthday dress and the cake and her matched perfectly. This year, she had specifically requested, and I quote: "A pink cake with lots of Tinkerbells... and purple flowers."
When I asked her what she thought of her cake, she politely said "Oh Thank you, it's just what I wanted." She is pricelessly sweet.

Mommy and daughter

Dave made an awesome homemade fairy pinata! We were all laughing because it looked like a pig with a tutu on, which made it that much cooler.

Aurora wanted to hit the pinata with her star fairy wand but we finally convinced her she would get the candy a lot faster if she used the wooden stick.

Her and her BFF party guest Stella were very excited about all the candy, and well...Truman was excited about the little army men that Dave snuck in there.

These two were so cute together!

Happy 4th Birthday Aurora! You are so sweet...
