Truman's
Acceptance to Accounting Program
Celebration Dinner

Truman applied to BYU's Accounting Program last Wednesday. He has worked so long and so hard on his pre-requisites. He knew he had to get really high grades to get in because BYU's Accounting Program is 2nd in the nation. He worked long on his essay perfecting it, and anxiously turned in his application. The very next day he got an email telling him to check his status online. He nervously got online to check and I think it's the slowest the internet has ever been running for him. He told me his palms were sweating really bad, and it was really cute just watching him wait for his answer that would determine what he would be doing for the next few years of our lives. As he waited, he told me no matter if he gets in or not, that he wants to go out to dinner and get ribs to celebrate. Either celebrate that he got in, or celebrate that we would be moving back to CA in a year after I finish hygiene school.
He finally sees his answer, and he got accepted!!! We were so excited we just hugged and kept on saying, "Hey Truman, did you get into the Accounting Program?!" and he would say, "Hey Amy, did I just get into the Accounting Program?!". We were ecstatic! The earliest we were able to do the celebration dinner was today (Tuesday). He picked out a restraun,t and wanted to go to Ruby Rivers! He of course got his ribs, and the rest of his combo plate had a steak, and they have amazing baked potatoes with fixens.
We are so excited & Truman looks forward to going to his orientation!

Shot Anyone???

I'm in my summer semester of hygiene school, and I can't wait till summer vacation!
During the summer we don't have clinic, but we are learning injections! This is my Local Anesthesia course taught by a dentist at our school Dr. Allan who loves to scare you into thinking you're going to paralyze someone. haha. It's rather nerve racking sticking a 2omm or 25mm needle in someone's mouth. haha. We are all shown how to do it on a skull in class and then get to do it once on a manican. Then your very first injection of that shot gets to be on your lab partner you drew that day. You always hope you draw a good one! Heidi Halvereson drew me --lucky her! haha. We did the Posterior Superior Alveolar (PSA) injection today and it is one we will have to pass off in our local anesthesia boards!
I dread going to this class because I know I'm going to get a shot, I know it will probably hurt (because it is all of ours first time), and the class is right before lunch --so I know I'm going to be numb eating my lunch haha.
As Dr. Molen said to us as he walked by: "It's better to give, than to receive".
I would say he's very wise haha ;)
